HR Water-Based Impregnating Agent
OverviewA water-based impregnating agent with a durable effect lasting 10 years. The best choice for impregnation with a water-based liquid. Suitable for use on materials such as fired brick, natural stone, sand-lime stone, plaster, exterior walls, and aerated concrete.
Application
HR WB Water-based Impregnating Agent is used to impregnate both existing and new porous surfaces. It can be applied to materials such as fired brick, natural stone, sand-lime stone, concrete, MBI concrete blocks, plaster, and aerated concrete.
Benefits of Impregnation or Hydrophobation
- Prevent issues with moisture penetration.
- Prevent problems with frost damage, salt efflorescence, lime washing, chemical corrosion, etc.
- Prevent mold, moss, and algae growth.
- Materials dry faster, get less dirty, and last longer.
- HR WB Impregnating Agent also has insulating properties.
HR WB Impregnating Agent is used for:
- Existing or old facades and masonry
- Existing or old plastered facades and decorative plaster
- New masonry exterior walls (apply at least 3 days after construction)
- Masonry with subsequently applied cavity wall insulation
- Paving, garden tiles, decorative paving, tiles, and terraces
Surface Preparation
Before applying HR WB Impregnating Agent, remove any contamination from the surface (such as salt efflorescence or algae). Only then will you achieve optimal results. Any cleaning agents used must be completely removed. Frames and glazing in the façade must be taped off, and plants should be covered.
Note: If the surface has previously been treated with a solvent-based impregnating agent (within the past 8 years), you must use HR OB Impregnating Agent, which contains solvents.
Instructions for Use
To achieve a good result, follow these steps:
- Remove loose parts such as joints and stone flakes.
- Repair joints and cracks.
- Clean the surface to be treated with a high-pressure cleaner.
- Allow the surface to dry sufficiently (the minimum consumption is 0.5 L/m2).
- Properly cover glazing, frames, plants, plastics, etc.
- HR WB Impregnating Agent must be applied generously using a low-pressure sprayer until the liquid "runs off." When using a low-pressure sprayer, apply the HR WB Impregnating Agent from top to bottom.
- It is essential that the HR WB Impregnating Agent is applied continuously without interruption. Small sections of the façade can be treated with a brush, ensuring the same amount is applied. The treated surface must be protected from driving rain for at least 5 hours. Wind and strong sun can cause the product to evaporate too quickly, limiting penetration. HR WB Impregnating Agent can be applied to slightly damp surfaces.
The consumption should always be at least 0.5 L/m2. If not, a second impregnation treatment should be applied. The ideal temperature for application is between +8 and +25°C, as below +8°C the product evaporates too slowly. The effect, depending on weather conditions, develops after 1.5 to 2 weeks.
After use, clean tools such as brushes, low-pressure sprayers, etc., with plenty of water.

- MBI concrete block: 0.6 L/m2
- Concrete: 0.5 L/m2
