Overview

Compared to HR WB Impregnating Agent, this variant has a higher concentration of active ingredients (10%), resulting in a longer-lasting effect of up to 15 years. (We also offer a lighter variant, HR WB Impregnator, with a durability of 10 years.)

HR WB+ Water-Based Impregnating Agent is used for treating both existing and new porous surfaces. It can be applied to concrete, plasterwork, fired brick, MBI concrete stone, natural stone, sand-lime brick, and aerated concrete.

Benefits of Impregnating or Hydrophobizing with HR WB+

  • Prevents moisture penetration issues.
  • Prevents frost damage, salt efflorescence, lime leaching, chemical corrosion, etc.
  • Prevents mold, moss, and algae growth.
  • Materials dry faster, become less contaminated, and last longer.
  • HR WB+ also offers an insulating effect.

HR WB+ Impregnating Agent is suitable for:

  • Treating existing or old facades and masonry.
  • Treating old plastered facades and decorative plaster surfaces.
  • Impregnating newly constructed exterior masonry (at least 3 days after application).
  • Masonry with cavity wall insulation installed afterward.
  • Treating garden tiles, decorative paving, tiles, terraces, and other paving surfaces.

Surface Preparation

Before applying HR WB+ Impregnating Agent, any dirt, salt efflorescence, or algae must be removed from the surface. Proper cleaning ensures optimal results. After cleaning, all cleaning agents must be thoroughly rinsed off. Windows, window frames, and plants near the treated surface should be covered for protection.

Note: If the surface has been treated with a solvent-based impregnator within the past 8 years, a solvent-based impregnator must be used.

Application Instructions

To achieve the best results, follow these steps:

  • Remove loose parts such as crumbled joints and brick flakes.
  • Repair joints and cracks.
  • Clean the surface with a high-pressure washer.
  • Allow the surface to dry thoroughly (minimum consumption: 0.5 L/m²).
  • Cover glass, window frames, plants, and plastics adequately.
  • Apply HR WB+ Impregnating Agent thoroughly using a low-pressure sprayer until the liquid runs off.
  • When using a sprayer, apply from top to bottom.
  • Ensure a continuous, uninterrupted application. Smaller sections can be treated with a brush, ensuring the same amount of product is applied.
  • Protect the treated surface from heavy rain for at least 5 hours.
  • Wind and direct sunlight may cause the product to evaporate too quickly, reducing penetration.
  • The product can be applied to slightly damp surfaces.

Minimum Consumption:

  • Always apply at least 0.5 L/m².
  • If the required consumption is not reached, a second treatment is necessary.
  • Application temperature: +8°C to +25°C (below +8°C, evaporation slows significantly).
  • The effect develops after 1.5 to 2 weeks, depending on weather conditions.

After use, clean tools such as brushes and sprayers thoroughly with water.

Average Consumption (per m²):

  • Brick: 1.0 L/m²
  • Porous Brick: 1.2 L/m²
  • Sand-lime Brick: 0.8 L/m²
  • Aerated Concrete: 1.0 L/m²
  • Natural Stone: 1.0 L/m²
  • MBI Concrete Stone: 0.6 L/m²
  • Concrete: 0.5 L/m²

Product Properties:

  • Odorless
  • Approx. 10% active solid content
  • Surface tension reducer (for better adhesion and penetration)
  • Vapor permeable
  • Alkali resistant
  • Free from harmful substances
  • Highly water-repellent
  • Easy to apply
